  • People under the age of 18 cannot get married in Mexico without parental consent. Boys have to be at least 16 years old and girls 14 in order to be able to get married legally.
  • You don't need to be a Mexican resident in order to get married in Mexico however your passport and tourist visa are will be required. You will need to have 4 witnesses at the legal ceremony; two for the bride and two for the groom. They have to show a valid ID such as a passport or Credencial de Elector (Mexican voting ID).
  • Your Marriage Certificate will be valid world-wide, but you should get your certificate legalized in Mexico to ensure it is legally accepted in your home country at your return.
  • You will need travel permits and your birth certificates.
  • If applicable you must show your divorce decree.
  • Recently performed blood tests.
